Corpus of Written Narratives PIPALE
The Corpus of Written Narratives is a corpus of texts produced by primary school children (2nd and 3rd grades) obtained as part of the PIPALE project – Preventive Intervention Project for Learning to Read and Write, in response to a compositional writing item included in the diagnostic instrument developed within this project.
The corpus is constantly being updated, with the inclusion of new texts each school year. Currently, it comprises narratives produced between 2019 and 2024 by students from school clusters in the municipality of Sesimbra and the municipality of Seixal.
Each text has been digitised, transcribed and anonymised, and is accompanied by metadata with information on the sociolinguistic profile of each child and the context in which the data were collected.
