Yolanda Xavier is a PhD candidate in Linguistics, specializing in Psycholinguistics, and a recipient of a doctoral scholarship from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) (2022.13977.BD). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures (English Studies) from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and a Master’s degree in English Language Teaching, a joint programme offered by NOVA FCSH and Universidade Aberta. Her doctoral research investigates the relationship between non-native speech productions and the sociolinguistic attitudes of native speakers of European Portuguese.
She has received two international awards for her doctoral research. In addition, she conducts research in the fields of Natural Language Processing and multilingual and multicultural Artificial Intelligence, and has published several articles in these areas.
