AREA 1: FORMAL AND EXPERIMENTAL LINGUISTICS

Course 1: Crosslinguistic influence in bilingualism – Tanja Kupisch – University of Konstanz (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, ENGLISH).

Course 2: A State-of-the Art Outlook on the Role of Syntactic Awareness in Language Processing – Daphnée Simard – Université du Québec à Montréal (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, ENGLISH).

Course 3: Accounting for syntactic variation in Portuguese – Alexandra Fiéis / Maria Lobo / Ana Madeira / Joana Teixeira – CLUNL, NOVA FCSH (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, PORTUGUESE/ENGLISH).


AREA 2: TERMINOLOGY AND LEXICOGRAPHY

Course 1: The past, present and future, of African language dictionaries – from Eurocentric to Afrocentric compilations – D.J. Prinsloo – Faculty of Humanities, University of Pretoria, South Africa (classes by videoconference, ENGLISH).

Course 2: Linguistic Digital Data in Terminology and Lexicography – Raquel Amaro / Rute Costa – CLUNL, NOVA FCSH (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, PORTUGUESE/ENGLISH).

Course 3: Introduction to Linked Open Data in Linguistics – Thierry Declerck – German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) | Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities at the Austrian Academy of Sciences / Julia Bosque-Gil, University of Zaragoza, Spain (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, ENGLISH).


AREA 3: GRAMÁTICA & TEXTO / GRAMMAR & TEXT

Course 1: Modality and related puzzles – Jan Nuyts – University of Antwerp (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, ENGLISH).

Course 2: Os primórdios do (galego-)português escrito. A língua como instrumento de comunicação e cultura (sécs. XII-XIV) – José António Souto Cabo –Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, PORTUGUESE/SPANISH).

Course 3: Tempos & textos / Tenses and texts – Maria Teresa Brocardo / Clara Nunes Correia – CLUNL, NOVA FCSH (face to face classes, if allowed by sanitary conditions, PORTUGUESE/ENGLISH).


On July 3, the Young Researchers Group organize the XV21 Forum for Linguistic Sharing.

Fees for PhD Students at NOVA FCSH 

  • Enrolled in Doctoral Programs in Linguistics, Translation and Terminology, or Languages Teaching – Multilingualism and Education for a Global Citizenship: FREE
  • Enrolled in any Doctoral Program at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa: 1st course. FREE; other courses: 50€ each

Fees for all

  • Registration in a single course: 90€
  • Registration in 2 courses: 120€
  • Registration in 3 courses: 150€

NOTE: Special payment conditions for participants covered by protocols with NOVA FCSH (to be defined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the agreement).
