Joana Batalha signed contract with Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as Principal Investigator of the project “Language and literacy at school: the contribution of metasyntactic abilities to reading comprehension development” (CEECIND/00274/2018), within the national call Scientific Employment Stimulus.

Integrated member of CLUNL, at Formal and Experimental Linguistics research group, with PhD in Linguistics and Language Teaching, Joana Batalha has participated in research projects in L1 and L2 acquisition and in different areas of Portuguese teaching, currently being one of the coordinators of PIPALE, a project developed within the Portuguese national program for fostering school success, and a team member of Read4Succeed project, funded by the Portuguese National Agency Erasmus+.

Joana Batalha also collaborates as an Assistant Professor in the Linguistics Department of NOVA FCSH.
