Amaro, Raquel (Coordinator of the LLT Group)

She earned her PhD in Computational Linguistics from the University of Lisbon in 2010 and was a researcher and, later, an integrated member of the Center of Linguistics of the University of Lisbon from 1999 to 2015. She served on the Board of Directors of CLUNL between 2017 and 2025, during which time the research unit was awarded the grade of Excellent, and she is currently the coordinator of the Lexicology, Lexicography and Terminology group at CLUNL. She has participated in 30 national and international projects in the fields of Computational Lexical Semantics, Corpus Linguistics, Lexicology and Lexicography, and Language Technologies, coordinating nine of them, including the iRead4Skills project (2023–2026), the first HORIZON project coordinated by NOVA FCSH. She teaches courses in Computational Linguistics, Lexicology and Lexicography, Corpus Linguistics and Language Technologies in the undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD programs at NOVA FCSH, and supervises several PhD and Master’s projects. She was a visiting lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Macau and the Pedagogical University of Maputo and, between 2020 and 2023, was a visiting lecturer and Board Member of the PhD Program in Linguistics and Digital Humanities at Palacký University, Czech Republic. She has been actively involved in international research networks, serves on the scientific board of several journals, and is a regular member of the scientific committees of national and international conferences, as well as juries for academic degrees and research reports.
