On October 16, 2023, the French Ambassador to Portugal, Hélène Farnaud-Defromont, presented the insignia of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes académiques to Christina Dechamps, researcher at CLUNL, Professor in the Department of Modern Languages, Cultures and Literatures at NOVA FCSH, and President of the Portuguese Association of French Teachers.

Established in 1808 to distinguish the most eminent members of the academic body, the Palmes académiques now also distinguish eminent personalities who make an exceptional contribution to the enrichment of cultural heritage, particularly in the dissemination and culture of France.
