The European project MultiLAwa has been approved for funding!
The project MultiLAwa – Multilingual Language Awareness in the European Digital Society – has been approved for funding under the Horizon Europe programme, within the MSCA Doctoral Networks – Joint Doctorates scheme.
Universidade NOVA de Lisboa is part of the international consortium through the participation of Rute Costa, a researcher at CLUNL – Centro de Linguística da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
The project aims to analyse the relationship between language awareness, multilingualism, and digital transformation, promoting approaches and resources that strengthen the use and diversity of languages in the European digital society.
In total, 8 Joint Doctorates were funded, and we are among them! With a consortium that includes 10 European universities and 16 associated partners — including non-academic organisations — the project also aims to train 14 early-stage researchers, preparing them to address linguistic challenges in an increasingly digital society.
NOVA’s participation, through Rute Costa, reinforces the national contribution to research in linguistics and digital society, as well as active involvement in European networks of scientific excellence.
The newly funded project involves the following partners:
Université de Lorraine (Coordinator)
Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg
Università degli Studi di Milano
