Batoréo, Hanna

Hanna Batoréo (Hanna Krystyna Jakubowicz Batoréo) is an associate professor with ‘agregação’ (habilitation to full professor) at Universidade Aberta, in Lisbon. She graduated from University of Warsaw (Warsaw, Poland) in English and Spanish (1975) and in Portuguese Linguistics (1978). She earned her MA in Portuguese Descriptive Linguistics at University of Lisbon (FLUL) in 1989, where she also earned her PhD in Linguistics/ Psycholinguistics in 1997. Her PhD thesis “Expressão do Espaço em Português Europeu” was published in 2000 by FCT/ Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian). In 2006, she earned her habilitation to full professor (“agregação”) in Portuguese Studies: Linguistics, at Universidade Aberta, Lisbon, where she has been working since 1997. In 2006, she was also awarded an “International Grand Prix of Linguistics Lindley Cintra 2005“for the book “Linguística Portuguesa: Abordagem Cognitiva” (2004).
