The European Portuguese-Standard Arabic Dictionary (DPEAP) is being developed under a protocol between the Institute of Hispanic-Lusophone Studies (Rabat Mohammed V University), the coordinating institution, and the Lexicology, Lexicography and Terminology Group of the Linguistics Research Centre of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. The DPEAP targets in particular Arabic university students learning Portuguese at the Faculty of Arts of the Mohammed V University in Rabat. This linguistic resource will not only be useful to students, but also to professionals from other areas (economy, commerce, business, tourism, among others); teachers of Portuguese as foreign language in Arabic-speaking countries and translators will too have a new work tool at their disposal.
This bi-directional bilingual dictionary can also be used by all those who learn the Arabic language in Portuguese-speaking countries.
